An extremely rare set of 4 antique majolica oyster plates. Made in the Normandy region of France, famous for its oysters. These plates were made in Bavent with a clear hallmark on the bottom of the plates. The rich sea-green glaze pools on the crevices of the plates, with the oyster nooks, left free of glaze. The centre is coloured yellow for the placement of lemons. We adore this set and it's a truly unique antique that dates between the 1870s - 1920s.
