A pair of Hubert Bequet's classic earthenware created in the 1950s. This pair of peacock teal handpainted vase are decorated with beautiful hummingbirds and flowers. With the signature cut-outs gilded in gold. This pair differ slightly at the base, one has delicate stripes and a thick gold band and the other has light stripes and blue dots. The vase with the blue dots has natural wear from ageing on the handles where the gilded gold has worn away.

Hubert Bequet started built up his practice in Quaregnon Belgium and was one of the rare Belgian ceramic factories to have succeeded in combing creativity and mass production of earthenware.
